Kakav debeljan!
Ray Hansen, of Lehi, celebrates his purchase of the new Apple iPad early Saturday morning. Hansen works for "Will it Blend" and plans to put the iPad in a blender to see if it will blend, and video tape it for their popular Web site. (Rick Egan / The Salt Lake Tribune)

Few Notice Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ives at iPad Launch
Only a few customers seem to have noticed that Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ives were present at two different Apple Stores for the iPad launch, according to Cult of Mac.
It appears that Steve Jobs took a walk to his local Apple Store on University Avenue in Palo Alto, personally demoing the iPad for one lucky little girl.
“Met Steve Job @ Palo Alto today!” wrote Twitter user Cédric Lignier. “(He) demoed the iPad 2 her daughter. Unbelievable!”
Lignier took the picture below which shows Jobs casually walking out of the Apple Store with little attention in his direction.
Jonathan Ive, quietly attended the frenzied iPad launch event at the flagship Stockton Street store. His presence when largely unnoticed as well. One person who did, Matt Galligan, took the picture below with him.
Apple Sold 600,000 to 700,000 iPads on Saturday?
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has estimated that Apple sold between 600-700k iPads, revised from his earlier prediction of 200-300k.
“We estimate Apple sold between 600-700k iPads (including online pre-orders which started on March 12th) on the first day (4/3),” he wrote. “It took Apple three days to sell a million iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G’s, and 74 days to sell 1m original iPhones.”
Munster believes that Apple may have freed up some early inventory by pushing some iPad pre-order shipments to April 12.
“As of 7:30PM ET on Saturday night (4/3), 19 of 20 stores we called still had availability of all models, which is a positive for first day sales given Apple was able to fulfill most demand,” Munster wrote.
“In addition, we noted longer than expected lines at the five Apple stores we surveyed. For example, at the 5th Ave Store in New York we counted 730 people in line at 9am (when iPad sales began) compared to our count of 350 people for iPhone 3GS, and 540 people for iPhone 3G.”
Mislim da je brojka preterana, sta vi mislite?
Brojka je realna.

iPad apps have access to 256MB of RAM, single core processor
First things first: The iPad is fast. Web browsing is fast, games are fast, app switching is also fast, especially compared to the iPhone.
But if you think there are some crazy specs under the hood, you might be in for an unpleasant surprise. Doing a little coding, we've discovered that iPad apps only have access to 256MB of RAM and the processor thinks it is a single core (probably ARM Cortex A8) processor.
You can verify these results by building an app with the following code in Xcode:
int getRamSize()
{
int count ;
size_t size=sizeof(count) ;
if (sysctlbyname("hw.memsize",&count,&size,NULL,0)) return 1;
return count;
}
The relatively small CPU requirements (first speculated by Ars' Stokes) might also explain the iPad's incredible battery life. So how does Apple get applications to run so fast? Thanks Thomas!
Updated: Clarification of physical RAM vs. accessible RAM. Craig Hockenberry found similar RAM results. (below)
When using sysctl() to query the amount of memory available to the iPhone OS, the following values are reported:
Kind \ Bytes \ Megabytes
Physical (HW_PHYSMEM) 258,998,272 247 MB
User (HW_USERMEM) 210,284,544 200.5 MB
Again, it’s likely that the device is using 256 MB memory chips with a portion of the total being used for other purposes, such as video memory. Also, developers have noted that all of the 200 MB of user memory is not available for use by apps. The OS and background apps make use of a large portion of that memory.
